Creative Recycling Centre's launch of their first project
Australia's largest recycled rag rug
Ecofest 2015 was our formal introduction to the Gladstone Community, we launched our project to create Australia's largest recycled rag rug. We invited people to start plaiting stripped sheets into lengths that could be sewn together to create panels of the rug, in which we would have sewn together to create the largest rug we could.
Partnerships
We thank
- Gladstone Midday Rotary for allowing us to come under their banner for this launch and welcoming us to share their space with them.
- Gladstone Men's shed for making our amazing plaiting Teepee, made with recycled pallets donated to us by Gladstone Camping world.
- Artist Rosemary Anderson for creating a children's activity -- making spring worms from recycled trampoline springs and paper.
Our achievement
We were proudly presented with the EcoFest 2015 Sustainability award - what an achievement for our first project
