Each year the CRC want to show the public the infinite uses of recyclables for fun art and craft. The family fun day is an excellent opportunity for hands on fun and creativity for children of all ages. It doesn't exclude the adults either as they are always invited to participate.
CLAY TREASURES was one of the chosen activities. Clay feels good and easy to model. The children made pendants with various recycled items to press in to make designs. Doilies, bottle tops, old broken jewellery, coffee pods, keys and many general items were used. They then pushed a hole with other recycled items.
Children can then take home to paint how they want and hang their treasure wherever. It is another wonderful 'hands on' example of how anyone can use anything to make something useful and beautiful.
