Sounds of Nature was an initiative of Creative Recycling Centre to celebrate Ecofest 2020 and this year's theme of Biodiversity.

We asked residents to participate by taking, short, up to 30 second, video recordings of the unique sounds of wildlife in their backyard or local environment and posting them on the Sounds of Nature Facebook page www.facebook.com/crcsoundsofnature/.

Residents were also encouraged to share their knowledge of local biodiversity and assist each other with identifying the wildlife creating the sound by providing comments on the posts.

Sounds of Nature was launched on World Environment Day, 5th June 2020 and ran for the entire month of June.

Creative Recycling Centre is excited to announce the winners of the prize packs for the top 3 most interesting and Liked sounds!  Congratulations to Kymberly Robinson, Jimmy and Liesel Flood and Joanne Orr who
have won a set of 10x25 Tasco binoculars, bees wax wraps and a native rosella plant (plants have been kindly donated by Tondoon Botanic Gardens). Click on the photos below to hear their recordings!

Thank you to all who participated in Sounds of Nature!  We all really enjoyed hearing the sounds of wildlife in our Region!!

CRC would like to acknowledge David Stewart,
Australia’s most renowned wildlife sound recordist.  David kindly granted CRC permission to use a number of his amphibian sound recordings for our Who Am I challenge.  For more information about David Stewart and his amazing wildlife sound recordings visit his website www.naturesound.com.au
